Grow Kit Instructions

(For Lion’s Mane, Oyster, Chestnut, or Pioppino Mushrooms)

1. Open & Prep the Bag:
Cut a small slit in the top of the bag to let out excess air. Gently press the air out, then fold the bag down tightly against the block. Secure it in place with tape or a rubber band—this helps keep humidity focused around the fruiting area. Make sure the filter patch is folded inward and down—this helps prevent mushrooms from fruiting out of the filter instead of the intended cut area.

2. Cut an “X”:
On the front face of the bag where you see the thickest white mycelium, use a clean knife or scissors to cut an “X” in the plastic. This creates a pathway for the mushrooms to grow out.

3. Mist Daily:
Place the kit in a well-lit room out of direct sunlight. Mist the cut area 2–3 times a day with clean water to keep it moist.

4. Wait & Watch:
Mushroom pins (baby mushrooms) will usually appear in 5–14 days. Keep misting consistently—they’ll grow quickly once they start!

5. Harvest:
When mushrooms are fully formed (caps open for oysters, shaggy for Lion’s Mane), gently twist and pull to harvest. Don’t wait too long—they're best when young and tender.

6. Flush Again:
Let the block rest for about a week, then resume misting daily to encourage another flush. Most kits will produce 2–3 flushes (or more) with proper care.

Tips for Success:

  • Ideal temperature: 60–75°F

  • Avoid direct sun, heat sources, and dry airflow

  • If your kit dries out, remove the bag and soak the block in water for 6–8 hours, then drain and re-bag
